Editor workflows

Save, Load Latest and unsaved work

Persist a design, reconstruct the latest saved snapshot and understand what is not version history.

Save the design

  1. Finish inspector edits with Apply. Unapplied private panel drafts are not committed design edits.
  2. Use Save from the editor’s global menu. Wait for the save result before navigating or closing the tab. Save requires Owner/Editor organisation permission or an explicit deployment Editor grant.
  3. A successful save stores a design snapshot, not AWS infrastructure. Deployment name/description above the iframe have a separate automatic save.
  4. For a revision conflict, load the latest snapshot before retrying as directed. A conflict does not silently merge concurrent designs. A Viewer can inspect but cannot persist edits.

Load the latest saved design

Opening a deployment checks for a saved snapshot and, for the supported load contract, restores it automatically after editor readiness. Watch Checking for a saved design, Loading saved design, Reconstructing saved design and Saved design reconstruction complete. No saved snapshot available means you can create and save a design.

Cancel restoration cancels the pending automatic operation. Use Load from the global menu for an explicit load decision, including retrying a declined, cancelled or failed restoration. If you have unsaved work, read the confirmation before replacing it.

A failed or incompatible reconstruction is reported; it is not a successful load. The product reports that the previous design is preserved and offers Load Latest to retry. Do not assume missing resources or unresolved references have been repaired.

Current limitations

The WebGL/desktop menu labels are Save and Load. Load retrieves the latest snapshot, called Load Latest in operation feedback. The product does not expose a version-history browser, a historical-version picker, historical restore or an undo/redo history. A snapshot revision/conflict message is not a user-facing history feature.

The product asks about unsaved work for its editor/organisation/deployment navigation and sign-out paths. Do not rely on that as crash recovery or an automatic save guarantee. Apply and Save before reloading or closing the browser.
