Organisations and onboarding

Create or switch an organisation and understand organisation-wide access.

Create an organisation

  1. If you have no accessible organisations, Overview shows Create your organisation. Otherwise use Create organisation beside the organisation selector.
  2. Enter Organisation name, from 1 to 200 characters after trimming, and choose Create organisation. You become its first Owner; existing memberships remain available. Deployments are created separately.
  3. If Atlas cannot confirm creation, follow the displayed safe retry instruction with the same name. A daily creation limit, server unavailability or expired authorization can prevent creation; do not assume an ambiguous response created nothing.

Switch and navigate

Use Active organisation in the header. The options can include membership roles and organisations accessible through independent deployment grants. Switching from an open editor asks about unsaved changes and clears the old editor context before showing the new organisation.

Overview summarises your accessible deployments and access. Deployments shows the searchable, sortable list. Owners also see Invitations and Members; organisation members can view Organisation settings. On a narrow screen use Open navigation and Close navigation.

Roles and explicit deployment access

AccessWhat it enables
Organisation OwnerOrganisation membership administration, invitations and name edits; create/manage deployments and save designs.
Organisation EditorCreate and manage deployments and save designs; does not administer organisation membership.
Organisation ViewerOrganisation-wide read access. Cannot save unless an independent Editor grant adds that permission.
Deployment Editor grantRead/edit/save and administer that deployment’s access; does not create organisation-wide deployment rights.
Deployment Viewer grantRead access to that deployment.

Organisation settings

  1. Open Organisation settings to see Display name, Created and Organisation reference.
  2. An Owner can choose Edit organisation name, enter Organisation display name (up to 200 characters) and Save organisation name.
  3. If another edit has changed the version, the draft is preserved. Choose Reload current version, review the draft, then save again. A conflict is not an automatic overwrite.
