AWS Account

The root of an AWS design. Create AWS Account is available from the global menu while no account exists.

In Atlas

The root of an AWS design. Create AWS Account is available from the global menu while no account exists.

Use editor controls for selection, inspector drafts and action menus. Creating or editing this design data does not create an AWS resource.

Create a VPC

  1. Create AWS Account in the global menu, then click the account.
  2. Use the inspector action selector to choose Add New VPC, then press the main action button.
  3. The new VPC receives a non-overlapping private /16 CIDR. If existing CIDRs are invalid or allocation is exhausted, creation reports an error rather than rewriting existing data.

Fields and editing

Field / labelMeaning and behaviourDefaults and constraints
Account IDEditable design account-number text; does not connect or authenticate an AWS account.Required, exactly 12 decimal digits. New account: synthetic 000000000000.
Default RegionEditable region name used by offline placement/AZ defaults.Required, at most 64 characters. New account: eu-west-2. Not a live AWS capability lookup.

Shared resource fields

Resource identity, naming and tags follow the shared field guide. Parent ownership summaries are read-only; changing visual placement does not rewrite ownership. Apply commits an inspector draft to the design; Save persists the design. Values loaded from a saved design may differ from the bare defaults below.

AWS reference

Official AWS service guide explains the service. Atlas is an offline design model; its fields are not a promise of direct AWS API/CloudFormation equivalence or regional availability.
